               Application of ICT by SEWA
SEWA (Self-Employed Women’s Association) uses ICT to promote local

opportunities for women to generate income. It employs interactive satellite
communication and an Internet-based training programme to cultivate a cadre

of barefoot managers among its two million members, who are dispersed

across 800 villages in Gujarat. Issues such as disaster management, leadership
development, health and education, and child development are covered in the

               training.

agricultural projects, as well as education and employment opportunities and
online complaints can be filed. This project is beneficial to both men and

               women.
