quantifying parental behaviors which enable children to thrive (Darling & Steinberg,
1993).When considering about the concept of parenting, there are four main types of

parenting based on amount of the parents respond the child’s need and parent’s
tendency demand responsible behavior from their child, as Authoritarian,
Authoritative, Permissive and Uninvolved. These parenting styles are evolved from

the research of Diana Baumrind in 1966.Taking in consideration about above types
of the parenting Authoritarian parenting is based on low responsiveness of parent for

children need and high demandingness of responsible behavior from the children.
Parents are very strict and controlling. Communication is one way: parents to child.
These parents have strong sense of justice and need of obedience. Punishment is

common. Authoritative parenting is more communicative than Authoritarian. Rules
are clear and reason behind them is explained to children. So, these children have

sense of independence. These parents are high responsiveness and high demanding
from the children. This style considers as most beneficial to children. When it comes
to permissive parenting, they make law demand from children and more responsive

than the demanding. They give children everything they want. Discipline style is
opposite strict. Communication is open and give chances to children for make own
decision than directing. Final situation is uninvolved parenting based on low

responsiveness to children needs and low demanding. It means absolute freedom or
neglecting. Limited communication and absence of disciplinary rules can be seen
here. Children are let to do anything they want. In agreement with the research of

Diana Baumrind (1966), high level and high quality of parental responsiveness and
demandingness on children lead to the high level of child wellbeing outcomes. And

also, it means low quality of the parental responsiveness and demandingness lead to
the low level of child wellbeing out comes. Child wellbeing is including the quality
of physical, psychological and social wellbeing of the child. Personality is one of

               crucial parts of this.

When considering about the parenting impact on the child personality, “over
parenting” is one of the important issues. Over parenting is a form of over-involved

parenting in which parents’ intrusive control restricts their children’s capability to
