Over-parenting and Its Negative Impacts on Child’s
Personality

1. Introduction
Over parenting has become an emerging trend in the contemporary society.
Socialization is one of the major concepts in sociology and family is the major
socialization agent of human society. Parents have to play a vital role within the
socialization process of a person. In here the concept of “Parenting” is important.
According to Brooks (2012), parenting or child rearing is the process of promoting
and supporting the, physical, emotional, social and intellectual development off a
child from infancy to adulthood. Parental encouragement is most important role it
had played a crucial part in successful students, their role is not limited home but
involvement in school activities too. The reason for parenting encouragement
children’s education starts from home and parents are the first teachers in their lives.
Every good parent try to give best beginning for their children’s lives, but it is
important to know that children should come into the outside world or society with
their own personalities, temperaments and goals.
If the parents don’t recognize the limit that they should involve in children’s lives the
matter of over parenting can be occur. The major concept of this discussion is, simply
how over parenting extreme and inappropriate form of the parenting. Although, there
is actually nothing to worry, some parents always worry about their children’s lives.
As well as the less parenting, over parenting also negatively impact in children’s life
by challenging their age appropriate autonomous. And also, it causes to occur
negative physical, psychological and social consequences.Although researchers
mostly have focused to negative impact of less parenting on child personality, there
