               1. Introduction

The advancement of technology has brought about a new era in education –

online teaching and learning. This innovative approach is reshaping traditional

education, offering greater accessibility, flexibility, and personalised learning
opportunities in making education accessible to a diverse group of learners,

especially during and after the COVID-19 period. However, as this
transformation was embraced, it is vital to ensure that the

advantages/disadvantages of online education are available to everyone,

including students with disabilities. This research zeroes in on a crucial
challenge: enhancing accessibility and inclusion for students with disabilities

in higher education, specifically in the distinctive context of Sri Lanka. By
understanding the unique obstacles faced by these students, the study aims to

pave the way for a fair and inclusive online education environment in Sri

               Lanka.
