Professor Sapna. M.S
Our distinguished guest, Professor Sapna is an outstanding individual who
belongs to an illustrious clan of academics and educators who keeps on expanding
the horizons of the field of journalism and communication. She graduated with a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration, English Literature &
Journalism in 1999. In 2001 she completed her Master’s degree in the field of
Journalism & Mass Communication. She completed her Ph.D. in the same field
in 2010. She was a dedicated and keen student of the subject throughout her
academic career. She ranked first in her MA and she was awarded 4 gold medals
and several cash prizes during her period of study and she is one of the few
individuals certified by Google as a Factshala India Media Literacy
Network Trainer.
As an academic, her subject areas cover a vast field including electronic media,
reporting, corporate communication, environmental journalism, and social media

studies. Knowledge in these areas is essential in the 21 century. The world and
the communities we live in today are highly influenced by these areas. If we look
at the world with a bird’s eye perspective, we can see that, all the major events
happening today, as well as incidents that took place in the past are tied to these
modern-day subjects, of which, Professor Sapna is an expert on.
Therefore madam, thank you very much for accepting our invitation and
allocating your valuable time to shed some light into our world. Madam, you are
an extraordinary individual whose academic contribution has been recognized
very well and awarded both locally and internationally. To motivate our young
generations let me name a few of your outstanding achievements.
In 2007 Professor Sapna was selected as a cultural ambassador by Rotary
International for the group study exchange program as a delegate to Brazil. In
2008 she was awarded and recognized as the best secretary by the Public
Relations Council of India for the Mysore chapter. Professor Sapna Received the
“Sir M.V Vishweshwaraiah global leadership award” in 2012 for excellence in
Education from Gulburga university, Gulburga, and AHEMS. She is also the
proud recipient of the Best Woman in Education award. Ironically, she received
it on Women’s Day in 2016 from the Socialist Progressive Women’s group SPI
Mysore. In 2018 the Best Media Educator in the Assistant Professor category was
