Intercultural Center Short Drama Competition 2023
The students from the University of Ruhuna Cultural Center who took part in the national round of the 2023 Intercultural Center Short Play Competition received merit awards, certificates, and cash prizes for their short plays during the awards and certificate presentation ceremony held at the Elphinstone Theater on January 23, 2024. The short drama "Ramuwa" won third place for best director, and received merit awards, certificates, and three cash prizes. The drama "Sewaneli" won certificates and cash prizes for the best supporting actress, best stage designer, and best director. Additionally, "Sewaneli" Drama also secured third place among the top five national-level dramas. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Vice Chancellor of the University, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, and the Coordinator of the Cultural Center for their invaluable encouragement, guidance, and counsel. Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to Mr. Shilpi Tharaka Pushpakumara for his exemplary commitment, and to the students who represented the cultural center in the drama.
