Message from the Vice Chancellor

It is with great enthusiasm that I extend my heartfelt

wishes for the inaugural Staff Badminton Tournament
organized by the academic and non-academic staff of the
University of Ruhuna. This event signifies a major
milestone in the university's history, fostering unity, health,
and sportsmanship among the staff.

Amid busy work schedules and hectic lifestyles, initiatives
like this provide a valuable opportunity for staff to unwind,
reconnect, and maintain a healthy balance between work
and personal life, benefiting personal well-being and
contributing to the university's overall harmony.

I commend the organizers' initiative in ensuring a well-managed and inclusive event in
collaboration with the Sports Advisory Board and the Physical Education Unit of the
University of Ruhuna. It is delightful to note that the tournament has received
sponsorship support, demonstrating both organizational dedication and community
involvement.

I view this event as a sign of our university’s vibrant spirit beyond academics, and I
warmly encourage all staff members to participate, support, and enjoy this outstanding
initiative.
