Tamil Language Proficiency Course

The ‘Advanced Certificate in Tamil Language Proficiency’ which is an internal certificate course especially designed to meet the needs of those students wishing to pursue a career in collaborating with Tamil language, academia and the corporate sector in this global era. Going beyond the traditional aspects of knowledge impartment, which aims at solely developing the competency in the four language skills; reading, listening, speaking and writing, this course educates the learners about the Tamil Language and culture, society, and arts as well.

Objectives of the Advanced Certificate Course in Proficiency in Tamil Language (Level 2 SLQF):

The objective of the ‘Advanced Certificate Course in Tamil Language Proficiency’ (Level 2 SLQF) is to produce qualified and well-trained Tamil Language users. Thus, this course will empower undergraduates with essential language skills required to perform as the effective students within their study period and achieve the desired objectives in their personal language skills and professional life. Accordingly, the implementation of this course will expect to achieve the following objectives.

  • To foster positive attitudes among undergraduates towards local and international relations.
  • To grow awareness in undergraduates about the advantages of learning Tamil as a second language for job market.
  • To educate students to manage second language along with their bachelor's degree.
  • To develop Tamil cultural relations among the undergraduates.
