as the year with the highest number of scientific publications.

5.2 Analysis of Cited Papers

5.2.1 Analysis of Annual Citations
Figure 2 depicts the pattern of annual citations in the field. There is a

noticeable increase in average citations around 2007 (Mean TCperYear2)
and 2011 (Mean TCperYear2.4). Indicating that articles published in those

years have had a relatively higher average impact, possibly due to their

significance in the field.
