Editorial Preface

Within the context of rapidly evolving standards in higher education, the development of students’

research skills has been highlighted as a priority. The thirteen themes we are discussing today enable

students to seek solutions to contemporary global challenges. Since 2016, the Faculty of Humanities
and Social Sciences of the University of Ruhuna has been annually organizing the Ruhuna Arts

Students’ Annual Sessions (RASAS), providing an opportunity for undergraduates across Sri Lanka to
explore new dimensions of such knowledge. We are proud to present Abstract Volume 10 of RASAS

2025, which marks an important milestone in the academic journey of our faculty.

This year’s research themes are: Archeological and Historical Studies, Conflict Resolution and Peace
Building, Economic Development, Sustainability and Green Governance, Education and

Transferable Skills, Gender and Women’s Studies, Geography and Environmental Studies, ICT and

AI, Language and Cultural Studies, Politics and Public Policy Process, Psychology and Counselling,
Religion and Spirituality, Sociological and Anthropological Studies, and Tourism and Hospitality.
