People’s Journal Sri Lanka
Department of History & Archaeology, University of Ruhuna, Matara, Sri Lanka.
1. Initial Editorial Screening
- Relevance: Alignment with the scope of Social Sciences and Sciences.
- Originality: Verification that the work presents original research or a novel synthesis of existing data.
- Compliance: Adherence to the journal’s formatting and citation guidelines.
- Integrity: Screening for plagiarism using industry-standard software.
2. Double-Blind Peer Review Process
- Anonymity: Reviewers do not receive author name/affiliation; authors do not know reviewer identities.
- Evaluation: Each paper is referred to two subject-matter experts to assess quality, methodology, and contribution.
- Criteria for rejection: If a referee provides strong, evidence-based reasons, the Editorial Board may issue a final rejection decision.
3. Decisions and Revisions
- Acceptance: Accepted without further changes.
- Minor/Major Revisions: Returned for improvements (typically one month to resubmit).
- Rejection: Deemed unsuitable in its current form.
Note: Revised papers are sent back to the original referees to confirm all concerns are addressed.
4. Final Publication
Accepted manuscripts are published by the Department of History and Archaeology & people.lk
in both print and online formats via peoples.lk.
