ABSTRACT
Greater urbanization has made the parking problems more severe, leading to traffic jams, space wastage, and
user inconvenience in traditional parking systems. All current automation technologies lack cost-effectiveness,
scalability, and real-time interaction with users. To overcome such loopholes, this paper presents a low-cost
intelligent car parking system based on NodeMCU, various IR sensors, servo motors, and a mobile app
interface. Compared to conventional designs, the above-described system features entry/exit detection and
automatic gate control together with real-time slot status visualization, significantly enhancing usability and
operational reliability. Two IR sensors are utilized to observe separate slots, and two more manage entry and
exit, both coordinated with a servo-controlled barrier. Parking availability is communicated to users through
an LED display and a mobile app. The system was evaluated for slot detection accuracy, response time, and
real-time update consistency and was found to deliver more than 95% accuracy of detection with zero to
minimal latency in test cases of experiments. The outcome demonstrates that the proposed design not only
improves real-time monitoring but also provides a friendly and scalable platform for smart urban parking.
