Biography:

Ven. Ekala Dhammanisanthi is a young Buddhist scholar specializing in Buddhist Studies. He was born on 8th June, 1993. He entered the University of Peradeniya in 2013 as a student of the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies. He graduated with the first class (honors) degree in Buddhist Studies with highest great point average 3.93 out of 4.00 from the University of Peradeniya and He was awarded 13 scholarships and prizes during the undergraduate level. Already he successfully completed the Post Graduate Degree of Master of Arts in Buddhist Studies (M.A. Two Years Program) at University of Kelaniya, Faculty of Graduate Studies in the English Medium. Before his entering to the University itself, he had completed Oriental Final Examination in Sinhala, Pali and Sanskrit that has three levels offered by the Oriental Language Studies Society of Sri Lanka which highly revered in the sphere of oriental studies in Sri Lanka while he was still very young. He was the best student of the Oriental Final Examination held in 2012. Moreover, He has successfully completed by now Diplomas in English and Information Technology, Certificate Course in Human Rights and Sri Lanka Tripitaka Examinations which signify his enthusiasm of being an outstanding academic. At the Present, he is following the Master of Philosophy Degree in Buddhist studies at the Postgraduate Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences of University of Peradeniya in the English medium. He has written academic articles for various journals in English and Sinhala medium and presented more than twenty academic research papers in various national and international conferences, which covers diverse aspect of fields in Buddhist Studies. His research fields are Buddhist Ethics, Buddhist Epistemology and Problems of Philosophy. Ven. Ekala Dhammanisanthi worked as a temporary lecturer at the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, University of Peradeniya from 3rd, August 2017 to 31st, October 2019. At the present, He is working as a Lecturer (Probationary) at the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies, University of Ruhuna from 1st, November 2019.
