Biography:

Dr. G.P.T.S. Hemakumara is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka , Dr. Hemakumara has completed his PhD at the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) under the Professor Ruslan Rainis in 2015. Also obtained a BA Honours degree in Geography from the University of Colombo in 1996, a Masters Degree in Remote Sensing and GIS at AIT, Bangkok in 2001 and the Postgraduate Diploma in Town and Country Planning at the University of Moratuwa. Before he joined the University of Ruhuna, he was an Assistant Director in the GIS section of the UDA of Sri Lanka where he obtained considerable industrial practice and experience in city planning. He is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Town Planners, Sri Lanka.
